There are many times when we have an issue or problem to solve and can’t get to the bottom of it. For many people it is talking with a friend, prayer, meditation, or exercise to help them come to terms with the issue. There are times where all of these methods work but there is something that is still tugging at us that needs to be resolved.
In life when we are faced with an issue, the bottom line is that there is a lesson to be learned about ourselves. Sometimes when repeated issues come up in different forms there is a deeper issue that we need to tap into in order to truly heal and grow. Writing can be a beneficial exercise to get to the root of it all.
You might be thinking, my mind is running a million miles an hour, how can I focus enough to write. Start with a blank sheet of paper and write exactly what you are thinking. Practice a free write for five minutes and see how you feel. It is nice to set the space where you will be writing. Put on some relaxing music, sit in a comfortable space, grab your favorite pen and write. This is your personal time for you to tap in and release.
It is not easy to put the pen to paper but have no fear, here are some writing prompts that will help you get started.
1. If I could go back I would ____
2. I experienced pure happiness when ___
3. I became ____ when I closed that chapter.
Even if there is no issue to solve and you would like to start writing to tap in to your internal light, these prompts are wonderful ways to start the beautiful journey.
