Summer is almost over and it is time to get ready for fall! Cue the uber chic booties, sweaters, and dark lipstick! What better way to bring in the fall then with the hottest makeup trends? Fall is all about warm colors, sure to keep you hot, even when the season is changing. Here are the latest fall makeup trends that have graced the runways, celebs, and soon to be you!
1. A little Metallic goes a long way
Metallic added ever so subtly, is all the rage this fall. You can incorporate a hint of metallic to your eyes, lips, or nails. Metallic can take you from day to night with just a quick brush of eyeshadow, or gloss added to your favorite lipstick. Don’t be afraid to get a little bold with metallic. Just remember ladies, a little bit goes a long way. If you are going to try this daring look, we love Bobbi Brown’s Metallic eye shadow, and Laura Mercier’s lip glaze.
2. Winged with a twist
Winged liner is one thing from the 60’s I hope never goes away. Winged liner was all the rage on the runways this year, and came in many bold colors. Instead of using the typical black liner, try a vibrant blue or purple liner to add a little spunk to the eyes. This look goes perfect with nude eyes, and a soft makeup look. Rihanna has been known to add a little color to her liner and it always looks amazing! Break away from the mundane and try something a little different this fall, sure to turn heads. We are loving Wet n’ Wild’s Mega Liner.
3. Fine as wine
Dark wine colored lips is another favorite for fall. Whether you are headed to the office, or cocktails with the girls, dark wine colored lips look spectacular, especially on women of color. “Wine looks good on a variety of skin tones, making it one of the easiest colors to pull off.” Direct from the lips of Celebrity makeup artist, and creative-director for Fashion Fair, Sam Fine. Dark lips look amazing with gold or neutral colored eyes, and long baby doll lashes. Mac’s Media lipstick and Nar’s Fast ride, are both excellent choices for achieving this beautiful look.
4. Long luxurious lashes
Long lashes don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon and rightfully so. Lashes have a way of dolling up even the simplest of looks. Beautiful long lashes graced the models of Gucci, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent on the runways. Achieving long lashes is fairly simple. If you don’t want to add falsies, when you are applying your mascara, first go in a downward motion, running the wand against the length of your lashes, and then tease the bottom of your lashes. Apply on a few coats of mascara for thicker, more noticeable lashes. Benefit’s, They’re Real, and Mac’s, False Lash, are both amazing mascaras went it comes to lengthening and adding a pop to your lashes.
5. Nail it
No makeup look is complete without a banging nail polish. Can you imagine holding your cosmo with chipped, unkept nails? Neither can we! Fall represents so many beautiful colors and many nail polish companies have incorporated them with their nail colors. We are loving Dior’s Trafalgar, which is a beautiful blood orange color that completely and utterly captures the essence of fall!
