Is Your Moisturizer Weighing Down your Natural Hair?

By November 19, 2012hair + beauty

Leave-in moisturizers and conditioners are not always cheap or easy to find when it comes to figuring out which products yield the best results for your hair type. No two curls are ever alike and it’s important to give your texture the treatment and attention it needs! If you’re finding that your leave-in is too heavy and is weighing down your finer textured hair, one of these five lightweight moisturizers may be what you’re looking for:

1. Curl Junkie’s Curl Assurance Smoothing Lotion

This lightweight moisturizer will leave your curls soft, fluffy and works well on either wet or dry hair.

2. TGIN Buttercream Moisturizer

An obvious TGIN favorite. If we didn’t love it, we wouldn’t put our name on it! Replenishing enough to take on wet hair and light enough for a daily moisturizer.

3. DIY Shealoe Butter

Make your own she butter and aloe vera gel cream by mixing together equal parts of each ingredient. Both are highly moisturizing and using aloe instead of heavier oils keeps it lightweight.

4. Karen’s Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-In Conditioner

Great smell. Great slip. Great moisture. If you’re someone who mists your hair with water throughout the day, a few pumps of this mixed in your spray bottle will add a moisture boost.

5. My Honey Child Coconut Hair Milk

This moisturizer is very light. Not a favorite among thick, highly textured hair, but works wonders for finer, thinner, and looser textures. It’s very liquidy and a little goes a long way!
