After giving up hope of ever working in television again, Rhonda Lee, a meteorologist who lost her job at a Shreveport, LA station in 2012, after defending her natural hair on social media has landed a new job.
You may remember the former weather anchor for KTBS-TV in Shreveport was fired after she responded to a negative viewer comment about her natural hair on the station’s Facebook page. Lee was told she was let go for violating the station’s social media policy.
Here is the exchange between Lee and the viewer:
Currently, Ms. Lee is in mediation to resolve her termination from the ABC affiliate, and has recently taken a new job. She will be working with WeatherNation in Denver reaching millions of viewers each day on DIRECTV channel 361 and she couldn’t be happier about it. On Facebook she posted: “By all accounts it is my dream job and I am thrilled to be a part of the WeatherNation family.”
We congratulate Rhonda Lee and wish her continued success. We’ll be watching!
