The Beanie Method
This method is great for the colder seasons when hats and beanies work as great disguises for deep treatments. No one will ever know your hair is getting pampered with moisture underneath. Dampen clean hair with water, cover the majority of your hair with a plastic cap, and cover cap with a cute winter beanie. Wear as a style and by the end of the day, your hair will be soft with moisture.

For instant light moisture, try spritzing the hair with water throughout the day using a spray bottle when it feels particularly dry. This is great for the ends of your hair especially, which face the most damage and are also the oldest parts of your hair. If you’re hair is already coated with product, gel, or oil before misting, then the water will not penetrate the strands. However, wetting the hair will still boost malleability which helps prevent breakage.
Plastic Cap + Hooded Dryer
If you don’t want to invest in a hair steamer, but want a deep steam treatment, try covering freshly washed or damp hair with a plastic cap and heating with a hooded dryer. If you don’t have a hooded dryer, a regular blow dryer will also work as long as you make sure to rotate, providing heat to all sections of your scalp. This is a good method to do if you normally blow-dry your hair dry. It also adds a boost of deep moisture and elasticity before a blowout or flat ironed style.
Lastly, you are what you eat. The hair that grows out of your scalp is only as healthy as what you put into your body.
